I am a self taught artist from Co Durham, passionate about portraying the beauty of nature. My work focuses on using bold colours to bring animals and other subjects to life, giving them character through the vibrant medium of acrylics. My background is working with and owning domestic and exotic animals over the past 40 years in various roles including vet practice, managing at a farm park, lecturing in exotic, domestic animals and large livestock,  rehoming manager for a kennels, my own business scales n tails animal encounters owning over 50 exotic and domestic animals visiting schools delivering education and visiting care homes for animal therapy, the animals were all very much a part of our family so painting them and bringing them to life is what I love to do. 

 I had to give up my passion of working with animals and my animal business as being a chronic migraine sufferer took over my life.

My art replaces the void caused by my condition.
